Sunning chalet in Parnassos above the cosmopolitan village of Arachova
Location
Mount Parnassus is one of the most beautiful green mountains in Greece, merely one and a half hour’s drive from Athens. It towers above the town of Delphi, the “navel of the world”, as Ancient Greeks called it, home to the famous oracle of Apollo. It is also the location of Greece’s biggest and most cosmopolitan ski resort.
Villages scattered throughout the entire area offer visitors an exciting experience. One can indulge in traditional dishes as well as enjoy the high life at the many restaurants, night clubs, etc. Or simply enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, trekking, biking, climbing and many more.
Plot
The 4,413,19 m2 plot is located in the woods between the villages of Arachova and Agoriani, isolated from other housing developments yet close to the ski center. Access is gained via a 200 m. side road which leads only to this plot, crosses the forest and terminates at Delphi.

House

The house is half log half stone. The laminate wood is made of three pieces of timber with eco-friendly insulation in between made of animal hairs.
In complete harmony with its surroundings, it is built with various collectible items brought from all over the world, such as old waxed English flooring, French antique (1780) water basins made of unprocessed stone, rare timber from rail tracks for the fireplace and the deck benches, etc.
It offers a total of 300 m2 living space in three levels: ground level, basement and first floor.
Ground level (130 m2)
The ground level includes an entrance hall, open-plan living room and kitchen, and bathroom.
The spacious living room has double glazed windows all around that offer a powerful view of the surrounding trees and the mountain. The majestic fireplace has a mantel made of rail-track timber.
The furnishings are collectibles, mainly antiques, such as the Victorian dining table, the two antique woodstoves from Belgium that can be potentially used for heating purposes, etc.
The large, inviting, open kitchen has a 10-meter built-in cabinetry with built-in refrigerator made of solid oak and a gas/electric kitchen stove.
The bathroom cabinetry is made of solid oak, waxed, antique looking.
There is also a small tool shed and a two-room sauna, both independently accessed from the deck of the house.
Basement (110 m2)
The basement is accessed either via an internal staircase or a metal entrance door from the exterior of the house.
It has wooden flooring and antique looking walls and it includes 2 master bedrooms, 1 children’s bedroom with bunk beds, all with private bathrooms, and 1 housemaid’s room.
Both master bedrooms offer a forest view through big double glazed windows.
First floor (60 m2)
The first floor is dedicated to the master bedroom, complete with bathroom, shower and balcony.
The house is also equipped with a big stand-by electric generator with an oil-fuel tank for emergency use in case of a power outage and a sizeable water tank with pumps.
Garage
It may be remodeled to a spacious playroom or guest house.
Storage shed
Independent shed used for various tools.
